@djm62 I've had this discussion a few times, and sometimes the hardest part is getting the man to accept that the patriarchy exists. Because 1 woman is successful or because 1 man is poor, they can't see that the system is built to oppress them to make them complicit in oppressing their children and the women in their lives.

@craignicol it's a (multi-) generational change, and an experiment with no control group. Like, I saw people not conforming to gender roles as a teen, but I knew they were absolutely not supposed to be doing that: my kids are still growing up in kyriarchy but they're getting taught radically different values, and their social environment has much more diversity.

Their kids, presumably, will have flying cars, free public transport, and the foundations of a free and equal society.

I dunno, as a guy of "mentor" age in a number of places I'm mostly aware of the importance and impossibility of getting it right. If I ever figure it out, I'll write an 800-part thread and retire.
