It was cold and windy and outdoors.

A high contrast, monochrome photo, taken at a bird sanctuary on the eastern shore of San Francisco. While the number of birds at the sanctuary was underwhelming yesterday, there was one particular subject worth photographing: Chris. He is shown here in silhouette, in the distance, walking towards me with camera in hand, on the edge a long, packed dirt path that extends out into the waters of San Francisco Bay. The dirt path has small boulders on each side, and water from the bay just beyond the boulders. The mid-afternoon sun glares off to the left. And there's a long, low slung industrial shed on the right: a recycling facility for much of San Francisco's garbage. The seagulls hang out there, naturally.
