An eggplant, its skin a rich dark purple. The eggplant has a plump, oval shape—nothing like the gently curving elongated shape of the eggplant emoji. Which is why—or at least one of the reasons why—when Rose comes across this clipart at work in 1995 she doesn’t see a penis. If anything, she sees a breast.
