During the above video I express a thought that feels like a new angle, though maybe it simply boils down to #capitalism bad. Governments fiat money & regulate complex systems concerning the flow of money. A nation's economic wellbeing is the uppermost priority. None of these systems reward moral or healthy behaviors. We get what our system encourages. It's a poor system that cannot find a way to value clean air, a livable climate, caring for children, walks in nature, artists making art, etc.

People often make all sorts of claims about capitalism valuing this or not valuing that. Capitalism is an economic system, not a system of politics or morality or ethics. PEOPLE have values. PEOPLE can (and often do) value clean air, caring for their children, etc. It would be like if I complained that math doesn't tell me if a painting is beautiful or not; of course it doesn't. That's not its function. Economics is not there to tell us what to value.

AlexanderKingsbury @mastodon.social offers me no valueβ€”his every post is obnoxious & obvious. Yes I *know* the capitalist pov. NO ONE needs to defend it, it's ubiquitous. So I'm gonna block him BUT for followers I want to address one thing he said that my critique of capitalism clashing with human values was as illogical as "if I complained that math doesn't tell me if a painting is beautiful or not; of course it doesn't."

A natural sense of math, geometry, proportion very much informs beauty!
