Five Just Stop Oil activists are being sentenced in Southwark this morning, facing as much as 10 years in prison for walking down the road.
The judge has already indicated that he intended to hand down "long, long sentences", saying that "facing the end of the world is neither here nor there".
The trial was witnessed by UN Special Rapporteur Michael Forst, who had this to say:

@aral I have attended a Crown Court session once. I canโ€™t speak for all other Crown Courts, but the session I attended was the most blatant display of the British class system Iโ€™ve seen.

There were two people on trial after each other. A mailman that had stolen mail was very apologetic, but was treated with great disrespect by the judge.

The upper class person was on trial for drugging and raping minors, and was treated with great respect.
