Scientists used yellow food dye commonly used in corn chips and other snacks called FD&C Yellow 5 to make organic tissue transparent.
For now, it only works well on mice but looking ahead, this technology could make veins more visible to draw blood or inject fluids, especially in elderly patients with hard-to-see veins.
