A few months back, I simplified my social media presence from Facebook, Nextdoor, Mastodon, and Reddit to just the last two. I briefly brought back Nextdoor to try and sell a furniture item locally, and then deleted it straightaway.

I'm seriously thinking of dropping Reddit. The timeline stresses me out quite a bit, since I can't seem to find filtering capabilities ala Mastodon. Also it is not nearly a friendly place overall like here.

There are a few "communities" (subreddits) that I'd miss, but I think what we have here may be quite satisfactory.

@madeindex Oh absolutely! A truly different vibe there, and it can vary so much from subreddit to subreddit, and from waves of new members.

Without a lot of #karma you can easily get bullied by the established community though 🀷

Or the #Reddit system bans you for something as simple as posting a BBC link πŸ˜…

I won't logon to reddit. When I look at the main feed or News & Politics I can feel the manipulation.
