My favourite app on macOS:

Dayflow is a native macOS app (SwiftUI) that records your screen at 1 FPS, analyzes it every 15 minutes with AI, and generates a timeline of your activities with summaries. It's lightweight (25MB app size) and uses ~100MB of RAM and <1% cpu.

If you use local ollama, it's 100% private, local. Open source.

Oh god I really do not need to know how much time I spend dicking around on social media whilst the ideas percolate. I KNOW that it's past of my process; I know that my productivity is unchanged if I pretend to be working or play stupid online puzzles whilst I think about a problem. But I don't want my computer tracking it!

Seemed interesting as you can use local models. Any good tips for tweaks? Do you use the default prompts?

My experience from the last 2 days has been that the granularity of the cards is quite coarse cramming everything into one item. Used LM studio for backend and qwen3-VL-4B as the model. Default prompts.

Now I'm rerunning the analysis using different prompts. Also downloaded gemma to try for comparison later.
