Hello Bluesky here from Mastodon 👋

#BridgyFed #Bluesky #Mastodon

Roni Laukkarinen reshared this.

in reply to Emil Jacobs - Collectifission

@collectifission Yeah, I like the fact people can follow my posts from Bluesky without me ever leaving Mastodon. I just wish interoperability would be opt-out, because I sometimes miss Bluesky people reactions if they are not bridged.
in reply to Roni Laukkarinen

yeah, I’ve been pushing people to follow the bridge. I got hundreds of followers on Bluesky with this latest migration, but I can only see a fraction.
in reply to Roni Laukkarinen

Whoa, I didn't know custom domains worked! Nice! I'll have to do that.
in reply to Roni Laukkarinen

oh, cool, I didn't know bridgy also supported custom domains on bsky side. Will have to set that up!
in reply to Osma A

@osma I had a look but it seemed too complicated. What's the benefit, besides looking nice?
in reply to Kalle Kniivilä

@kallekn
What was complicated? You need a domain name and access to DNS records. Send a message to the bridge to request your DID, add it to a custom DNS record and send another message to the bridge to tell it the name you chose. Done.

@osma @kallekn If I was in BS, this is absolutely what I would do. Really good to see the option exists.
in reply to miiko

@miiko @osma What for? I think I actually prefer my bot account there to be clearly identified as a bot for my Mastodon account.
in reply to Kalle Kniivilä

@kallekn Why not? Looks better and has verification. There's also a mention about bridging in the description. @miiko @osma

I tried to do that few days ago, but wasn't able to make it work. I have to try it again, if it was just some temporary glitch.
