My server recently turned 2 years old. I started it as a one user server, but now there are almost 200 monthly users here at mementomori.social

Our server is very liberal. We allow all kinds of users, organizations, companies, marketing, user-made bots, Threads, Bluesky bridge, etc... There are no "requirements" on country, gender, spectrum, political party, etc. as long as you have a good reason to join. While saying this, we are NOT a free speech zone.

Our number one rule is Be Kind. But we do have many other rules and boundaries you should respect as well. I can be strict as an admin. But at the same time I tend to look at "both sides". When countries are at war, should we ban all users from those countries? I think it's not the user's fault and I am not here to punish anyone based on the state of the world. But I do draw a line if someone has extreme or ill-wishing ideas to share. That I will not tolerate.

Some mistakenly think I'm a leftist. But I am politically non-attached. I'm more to left than right, but I like to think myself more like a nihilist - there is no one truth. Left is usually more correct and I despise all kinds of discrimination. I think this defines the principles of my server the most. I try to morally think what's right, but I'm human after all. As a father of two children and a Founder of a company of 15 people I think I have made some right calls in my life. I hope so.
