There's lots of US historical antecedents of Trumpism - fascist movements like Jim Crow, McCarthyism, the gleeful genocide of indigenous people. But when you're thinking about the rise of Trumpism, never forget that America isn't just a nation of cruel bigots; it's also a nation of rich swindlers.

I was going to tell my mother (whose parents were early participants in Amway) that Amway founder Richard DeVos was one of the founders of the Heritage Foundation, but from what I could tell from Wikipedia, it was Joseph Coors and Richard Mellon Scaife who did the initial funding of Heritage. Did the Wikipedia editors miss something?
