Pre-order it now, including as a DRM-free audiobook or ebook, at my Kickstarter, and help me continue to prove that DRM-free isn't just the *right* way to reach an audience, it's also the *best* way to reach them:

There's no such thing as "age verification": The foreseeable and foreseen consequences of "something must be done"/"there, I've done something."

> Technopolitics are defined by Bruce Schneier's "security syllogism," which goes, "Something must be done! There, I've done something." "Something" doesn't have to fix the problem, and "something" doesn't have to anticipate what will happen next. So long as "something" is done, the issue is resolved and the politician can chalk up a win.
Yeah... you can scrap the "techno" there, in my experience this goes for _all_ politics (where a good consensus that actually solves the problem isn't trivial) currently sadly. Rather just do "something" than breed on a solution for a longer period of time, as that means "doing nothing" (to voters/policians)

I do notice some people feel it is possible, as described in this article from two researchers at Queensland University and the University of Münster. I'm curious what your thoughts are on their article.

Age verification online can be done safely and privately. Here’s how.
