The financial engineering that registers corporate profits in no-tax nations like Ireland & tax havens like Jersey, Grand Caymans, & Panama ...

... while registers corporate losses in the G7

... that tax evasion must end.

@Npars01 @Pettet8 this all sounds amazing! This is the first time I’m hearing about the potential for global tax reform, and I’ll admit I didn’t even realise this was something the UN would be involved in.

But… does it have a real chance? There’s obviously a few counties that will strongly oppose this, and the USA seems to have pulled out of negotiations. What are the chances it actually happens in the way that’s being proposed?

Good policies take years to gain support & acceptance but progress is possible.

1. Biden enacted 120 tax treaties in only 4 years.

2. With a planet on fire; the ICC is finally addressing the issue of ecocide as a crime against humanity

Taxation of oligarchs is only part of the issue.

If governments just use the tax revenue on fossil fuel subsidies or to provide backing for banks' pipeline loans, it is pointless to have a carbon tax or scams like carbon credits.
