Not only was Google happy to allow other companies run ads that pretended to be me (Ewen Bell and my photo tours), but had no system in place for the real me to report fraudulent ads. It was happy to take money from people pretending to offer a photo tour under my name.

And that was over a decade ago.

Imagine what the internet might look like for small business and solo operators like myself, if Google were an honest broker of search results instead of a greedy thief and a conman's best friend. Google could have been a force for good in the world, but they discarded every opportunity to be their best.
