people aren't going to hang about and wait for approval to try out the fediverse

its about time other measures are embedded into the software to allow admins more tools to combat bad actors rather than just closing all the doors

I'm going to be real, after over a year of being on Mastodon and 10+ months of literally begging for better moderation tools, you shouldn't use mastodon if that's what you want. It sucks but Mastodon devs do not care about moderation and safety and they've proven that time and time again over the past year.
