Sigh. I like the TP-Link EAP773 we're running at home. The only other prosumer brand I know is Ubiquiti and their software is often times flakey. They prosumer WiFi 7 gear all have fans in them.

I'm wondering if the concern extends beyond routers specifically. If I'm using a home built #opnsense based router/firewall, but using TP-Link APs and managed switches (Omada line), should there be any cause for concern? I don't use the management software, I just configure them directly.

I originally went with Omada over Ubiquity because I thought I had read similar concerns years ago about Ubiquity.

I suppose there is very little commercially available hardware that probably isn't suspect in one way or the other these days though. Shame.

@finner

I ran Ubiquiti APs for a long time, but their software drove me nuts (buggy). So I switched to TP-Link APs which have worked great, especially in standalone mode since I only need one to cover my house.
