Public Discussion: TikTok & Twitter Ban

Invited: Everyone and especially @RTP

Would you support a ban on both platforms?

I'll say yes in advance. I see both platforms as propaganda tools, TikTok (directly under the control of a communist government) spies on us all and Twitter fails to comply with moderation obligations [at least in the EU]. Hate speech and fake news have dominated Twitter since Musk took over.

How do you view the issue? If I may make a guess, then you are against a ban on the platforms because you are an absolutist in freedom of expression.

Do you think it's okay if Musk, as a future government official, can continue to be part of Twitter? And Trump of Truth Social? I don't know what American law says about this, but I have a strange gut feeling when the president and ministers literally control and own "the media" (parts of it).

Sounds something sneaky IMO.

Personally always thought twit was purchased to secure influence operations, train AI w/real ppl / live q & a / thought.

Hard time believing w/be anything short of w/Milei has done.

Some worship musk... Somehow trust billionaires.

Putting so much faith in billionaires w/international business interests.

Somehow believe billionaires w/put country before their international business interests + connected family interests.

Milei I believe laid groundwork for what DOGE may do (opinion).

There is a closeness, appearance of partnership almost, w/Argentina's Milei.

Theatrics.

Trump introduced that level of theatre in politics IMO.

Observation: appears Milei has used similar dramatic act strategy to build populist support.

Goal IMO is: privatize everything possible - #PublicPrivatePartnerships take away constitutional protections.

On your point, do NOT think El0n shld b both gov policy+ twitter. #Ethics

At this point I think both platforms are beyond normal, advertiser manipulation, and new owners closed 3rd party access: transparency, so I wouldn't miss either.
