And the you will soon be unable to sideload applications without stress and dire warnings.

I have a Realme 14 Pro. Why, basicly my Bank forced me to give up on a fully google free device.
Has anyone been able to unlock it and install a decent operating system that will work with the Ing App.

I'd also like to know, AOSP hasn't been the great open source mobile operating system we'd expected unless the main features of a mobile device not working are ok for you!
With their latest move to lock down and out free open source alternatives, we will see a renewed push to open alternatives but having checked a few recent reviews, it doesn't look like much significant progress has been made in the last 10+ years.
The existing alternatives are great but for many, will fall short on key functionality leaving users looking to opt for more open platforms out in the cold ..

That is the problem, also many devices are boot loader hard locked.

Biggest offender Samsung. I think Xiaomi has now stopped providing unlocking codes.

Need for a cleanEuropean alternative to googles tracking and spying os is clear and urgent.

Thank you for the info, sadly the present situation is not very satisfactory.

On Top EU is allowing autocratic action from Von der Leyen. Bowing to google and cancelling fines so yet again the law is an ass, our rights and privacy worth nothing
