in reply to Kim Perales • • •Im not sure nonpartisan is an honest term here. Civil servants are heavily democrat in their breakdown last time I looked at those numbers, very heavily. This is likely why trump wanted to replace them, they are heavily partisan against him.
That said what we mean is if those positions are hired without awareness of party affiliation or not. I do tend to agree with your premise that they should not be hired specifically due to their affiliation.
