Tales From The Riverbank

Mid-February, and a gorgeous day for following the river as far as we can through the snow-drifts. The main roads have been cleared and the conditions are good albeit with temperatures well below zero C.

Fnjóskadalur, an agricultural valley in Þingeyjarsveit north-eastern #Iceland. Fnjóská, a popular salmon angling river and the longest spring-fed river in Iceland, runs through it.

The snow is clean and untouched, shadows on its surface are the only sign that it's folded into gorgeous convoluted pleats.
