I'm sure this is totally normal. No need to investigate anything suspicious.

Yup, definitely no price manipulating happening here. Just good ole capitalist competition producing the best product for consumers.

Of the consumers are capitalists on crack with the need to burn mine as fast as possible to show investors that they are growing, then something like this might actually be possible without the need of price manipulation. Not saying that they did not manipulate, but that the main reason for those profits most likely lies somewhere else.

Why would it be suspicious?

They got this result due to AI buying up ALL their capacity for several years into the future.

Samsung has been trying to get people to use their fab services for years, now they're totally booked out and had people competing to pay more just to get the capacity.

Will they default on the loans they used to buy all those chips?

Will they get bailed out? Fuckers will probably get bailed out. Just watch.

Samsung makes the chips. You're thinking of OpenAI. They probably won't get bailed out but they will get eaten by M$ who will get bailed out.

Samsung isn't Nvidia, they take money for their products, not pledges.

People call South Korea "Republic of Samsung", it's biggest chaebol there and its so entrenched that entire ROK would go down sooner than Samsung.

The ones on the hook for those loans are the data centers and the banks. Samsung already got its money - no refunds.
