"There’s an interview Evan did with Donald Trump back in 2011. This hand-cam video has always stayed in my memory as an ur artifact, a kind of rosetta stone of Trumpism. The interview focuses on birtherism, Trump’s then-crusade. Evan asks him why he’s pushing this so hard, why he believes it. Trump says something that has rattled in my head ever since. 'People love this. There’s something about it. People love it. Especially Republicans.'

You hear the whole Trump story foretold. It’s not even that he doesn’t care whether the birther story is true. People love it. He can smell the hunger."

yes, I always try to emphasize to people, whatever Trump is saying today was being said on Fox News two days ago.

This stuff doesn't come out of scholarly study or public policy think tanks. It comes out of Sean Hannity's mouth, as that moron fills his time on air every day.

I think it's really important to realize that currently the US government is having public policy set by some of the dumbest people in the country, sportscasters and shock jocks. Whatever they say is what Trump ends up repeating later.
