Personally, I don't think it's whitewashing, it's a strategic alignment.
#llm currently suck at 3d , I know because I was trying to generate some meshes.
I would not be surprised to see loadable 3D skill very soon.

Seems that strategic alignment isn’t working out so well for the Blender folks so far.
