You try and help. You try and make things a little better in whatever small way you can. You think, “hey, maybe at least there will be some respite now… maybe things can start to get better” and, just as your foolish little brain starts to believe it, the fuckers who fuck everything up for everyone but themselves – and somehow are never held to account for any of it – go and fuck things up even further. It’s fucking depressing. I mean I don’t know how we’re not all just fucking depressed every fucking minute of every fucking day.

@JackTheCat I love you, Aral. You have materially transformed the lives of 100's if not 1000's of ppl and raised the consciousness of many more

Take a break for a bit

All my love

Even if it end up being kicked over in the end, every bit of help at the moment you give it and the moment you built it meant something and continues to mean something.

It's really horrible, all of it, but it doesn't mean your actions get discounted.

Definitely depressing, what's happening right now. And if you only stay in depression land that's impressive. But yeah. Your actions don't mean nothing just because some fuckers fuck things up even more.

every time I worry about sustainability and sort my recycling, and all the other sustainable stuff I do. Like, is there any point if we are just allowing so much worse like it’s nothing?
I still do it, but I feel like the hummingbird in this story.

I’m pretty fucking depressed and furious all the time. I have been for years. It’s pretty hard to concentrate on things like going to work when I’m watching the entire world getting wrecked by these total pieces of shit.

Your not-so-little actions matter more than you imagine.

It's easy to despair. But when you look at how things have changed for the better during the last few centuries - I mean, how much less injustice is tolerated, in overall terms - we can see that those people are not bringers of a new, more rigid and cruel world order, but on the contrary, they are so violent and toxic because they know that their world order is crumbling. And ultimately, they will lose.

in reply to Aral Balkan

Well, look around and see those who speak up and do something, like you do. Wave and smile, you're never alone.

That's all that matters. Everything else will sort itself out.

It's a strategy. The "flood the zone with shit" in Amerikkkan or the "firehose of falsehoods" in the original Russian. Amidst all the lies they do heinous things but they get lost in the barrage. No one can react quickly enough. ☠️ Our institutions are made to be slow and steady. We must adapt quickly.

Hey mate. I totally get what you're saying. But whenever things feel *completely* fucking hopeless, I try to take comfort in the fact that I'd much rather die fighting a losing battle than die in shame.

Take care, and thank you.

hang in there @aral

you are helping lots, and you're helping some of us who see that you're helping as ww're hanging on to scraps of hope

in reply to Aral Balkan

First, do no harm.

Chin up, mate. We know you care ❤️

Don't care what anyone else says, Aral, Fabio, and everyone involved in this are legends. Just #realtalk 💚 👍

we can't afford being depressed, they stole even that from us. That's why we're furious.

you do help, and you have made things a lot better for so many Palestinians in need. Despite all the overwhelming and seemingly unstoppable stream of cruelty and injustice that’s being dished out, know that you’re a blessing for many. And a true inspiration.
But yes, it’s depressing as fuck as well.

Right, sorry about that. Clearly it gets to me too sometimes. Thank you so much for your kind and loving words.

It’s a new morning so I’ll tell myself what I tell others: we focus on what we can change and we do our best to not let the things we can’t change stop us from working on the ones we might be able to.

The little things matter. The little things add up (thank you for reminding me that).

Here’s to making things better together. One small step at a time.

Now, there’s work to do…
