My argument is that he realized he didn't want the job after he was shot at twice, and that that is why he started tanking his campaign.
The giveaway is when he didn't do any campaigning around Labor Day. He just doesn't care anymore.
He's an asshole, and he's going out in flames.

Interesting take, however, I don't think so.
1) He's been getting away with almost anything he's done and said, in particular, for years,
2) He can't pardon himself if he's not POTUS again.
3) Tons of rich people like Elmo have bet fortunes on TFG winning. These are the kind of people you simply don't p.o...
