in reply to Fediverse Report • • •The AP/email analogy is pretty well-established, but I think analogizing ATproto to "how the web works" confuses things.
For one thing, indexing servers like Google aren't a necessary component of the Web. They're certainly nowhere near as critical to the operation of the Web as relays are to the operation of Bluesky.
For another, I'm interacting via the Mastodon web interface, so in a more direct sense, this is also "how the web works."
