been happy with 1Password. Not FOSS but seems like a decent company.

Interesting choices. Hiding proprietary services and software among OpenSource software 🤔 and worst of all, having software that are locked-in and taking data out of them is super painful and calling them "best"?

For those who wonder, these are things that I have used that you should avoid because they will lock your information and you will suffer to take them out:
- Tutanota (I was premium user for multiple years)
- Authy
- Wire

How about adding to the list Proton, eOS, and OrganicMaps
in reply to Tuta

Big yes for @privacybrowser, @Mojeek (seriously, ddg and ecosia are pretty similar results and one of them seems a little bit greenwashed...but I might be wrong) @signalapp, @fdroidorg, @openstreetmap, Aegis, and @bitwarden

Vimeo... meh... (I know, nobody asked me).

Still, getting graphics like this out there is important.

#OrganicMaps should be added as the number one alternative for Google Maps IMHO.

Search engine:

qwant.com

(At least in Europe it works well.)

Ihr habt e/OS Als Android Alternative und Brave als Browser Ersatz nicht erwähnt!
🤔
Ist es Euch nicht bekannt oder spricht was dagegen?

I've been loving #grayjay as an alternative to YouTube (and it helps you follow creators no matter what platform they're on)

Google Translate alternative? What the hell kind of application or app is that?
in reply to Tuta

I can recommend the mull browser (another fork of firefox)
in reply to Tuta

- Yubico Authenticator is cool and credentials are portable across devices
- startpage if need use google anyway
- Element for chat
- Librewolf for browser
in reply to Tuta

there’s no good Google Photos alternative; I’ve been looking

Two things keep me with gmail despite it being run by Google: tags/labels and the solid GUI. I don't send anything I care about unencrypted and I would love to completely abandon Google. Do you have plans to support tags?
in reply to Chris Lamke

@crlamke Tags and labels are planned for future inclusion in the Tuta Mail app.

F-Droid, deffinitelly
but also Syncthing and Nextcloud and AdGuard

No Brave Browser, a top rated privacy browser?

DuckDuckGo? A regurgitated, censored Bing client.

Yandex is definitely a top rated search choice.

Kudos on Mojeek.

I'm really happy with protonmail, pass, calendar, vpn etc.

I encourage others to check out Informaniak to replace many organizational Microsoft and Google apps.
