do you thing your app can add unified push ?

because having yet another app that run it's own can drain more, than all of them using unified push ?

in reply to LΞX/NØVΛ 🇪🇺

@lexinova That's not planned right now as we've build our own push solution, but possibly in the future.

I would love to use /e/OS, but last time I tried installing it, it kinda killed my phone and I had to send it in for repair, so now I kinda don't want to try it again (fairphone 5)
in reply to FynnND

@FynnND
I use a Fairphone 4 that I have been slowly de-Googling.

The DuckDuckGo browser and privacy extensions help.

How is it possible that you can love something that is harming your goal?

how to disable Google services

Install Shizuku
Install Canta

Android 11 or Above, Follow the Instructions for activations

After that, Disable Gemini

in reply to Tuta

LineageOS or /e/OS are not good options for Security and Privacy. Those does not keep up with Security and Privacy. It's even the opposite. It's far more secure to use Iphones or Pixels on stock Android, then any of those "Custom ROM"

The only safe operating system + at the same time most secure and private option is: @GrapheneOS

Don't waste your time with LineageOS or other unsafe options. Protect your Data today by supporting those who value our Security & Privacy like @GrapheneOS

Are there people who don't know gmail scans your mail?

I knew that when I begged for an invite to get my gmail address. It was the method by which they were making the account free.

It was really stupid of me. I regret it. But I think you have to be completely fucking blind to think your mail is private on gmail.

in reply to Tuta

Yes, no one in their right mind would use Gmail, or outlook come to that.
in reply to Tuta

Wants to scan? People should assume they are ignoring any settings and are scanning them anyway.

The thing is, on one hand I don't think I had a personal conversation via email in years. All I got is automated emails (transactional and marketing), and those are unlikely to support encryption (PGP or any other standard) and even if they support, it might not always work due to backyard compatibility.

Business, on the other hand, has the issue of companies using Google and/or Microsoft suites (like mine).

Most of my personal conversations go via WhatsApp (that should be encrypted but... yeah) and Mastodon (E2EE is in the works). Sadly no one uses Signal here, despite it being the most popular FOSS messaging app with safe and enforced E2EE.

I don't use Google, but trying to do this for my wife on her Google pixel. Can't find recently visited section in the search engine settings? No mention of Google web...

@d4v Possibly, but it's the first time they admit it.

uh wasn't it already known they scan all gmail? Did they stop intermediately? Was it previously just a rumour?

To my knowledge gmail analyses all gmail contents and uses it for advertising and whatever else purposes they please. They never made a big secret about it. That knowledge is unchanged in the last few years so what changed?

in reply to Tuta

The worst thing is that Google doesn't hide it and people still use it 😥
in reply to Tuta

I was with you on turning off the AI search feature until it got to step 4 and I looked through the settings and there was no search engine option. Am I missing something?
