this is like, the only kind of news story about Canadian crime(?) that we ever get down here

Nice guy of no fixed address takes a turn at driving the bus, checks bus pass validity, makes scheduled stops, passengers give him directions when he deviates from route

Reminds me of the time some Canadian store was left unlocked overnight for some reason. They did inventory and the only thing missing was 1L of motor oil & there was a $20 on the counter

I've not read this but over 20 years ago I bought a book of stories by people with mental illness.

One was a London bus driver who, seeing how unhappy his passengers always looked, decided one day to take them on a trip through the green spaces that surround and adorn the city.

Tell me, who is mentally ill?!

I don't remember their reaction in the story, but I was on a night bus when I read that and I loved it.

I wonder whether the guy used to drive big vehicles earlier in life. I'm already overwhelmed trying to drive a Golf 😂
