Mastodon gGmbH was talking of suing them once: you have to post the source code if you use Mastodon code (AGPL-3.0 license). #Trump avoided a lawsuit by doing that

Anyway its corporate owner #TrumpMedia isn't doing so well

Too bad, so sad

It's like #crypto: a meme stock. No inherent value, purchased by degenerates playing casino hoping other fools will buy in so they can cash out at a profit

also, the fork was mostly done by Alex Gleason, a former Pleroma dev that caused drama there and ended up leaving Fedi for the most part to join Nostr, another decentralized protocol with very little censorship. He also created the Mostr.pub Fediverse to Nostr relay which most Fedi instances have blocked without even knowing by using a blocklist.

I try to gobble up as much Fediverse info as I can so that I can inform others and try to help new people come on board.
