in reply to Glyn Moody • • •This misunderstands how the Supreme Court works, how it fits into the larger picture, and heck, how the US government is designed such that such votes wouldn't carry much weight.
The key is that votes don't actually matter much. It's NOT a democratic organ. So those aren't really rulings, they're orders and administrativa being misrepresented by misleading articles like this.
In the end justification is largely what matters, contrary to articles reducing the case down to votes. Anything without justification is not really a ruling with weight.
But this headline misunderstands that.
