I used to 😭 (Sorry for the detour but talking art & products is useful I think.) I have wanted to find a way to convert my abstract paintings into products because I need income & I like the idea of more people seeing them than one single buyer. But I used Printify & it felt so anonymous. I made it complicated by buying print runs & mixing to make assorted design packs. I never knew how to market & don't like it. I sold mostly to people I know irl via Facebook. 1/2

2/2 Bliss to @potterybyosa for the innocent question that's helping me vent re: how to get original art designs into the world. I used Printify but the convenience of drop shipping didn't work for me. I wanted to see the product before selling. I hated to sell any mistakes, whereas big companies don't care. Card designs weren't available in mixed packs so I assembled them myself. Wasn't worth the effort & cost of double shipping for the low sales numbers. So hard to do art for $.

@RMiddleton maybe @inherentlee can share their process if you’re still interested in making cards for your art. Also, marketing isn’t for everyone. It’s totally fine to have a different job and make art just for the sake of expression instead of worrying about sales.

@RMiddleton For my own use, I go to moo.com/us/greeting-cards and print my own photos onto cards and postcards and business cards. Moo lets you print multiple designs per pack.

If you were doing cards for sale you would still have to scan your own designs and mail cards out yourself, but the options and services at Moo are great for printed custom cards.
