Are they still all-in on bitcoin and NFTs? Asking for a friend who stopped following them when they did that who is me.

@jwz yes, Nadya is still very very very much into crytpo. She even started a new project called UnicornDAO with her husband, which is heavily promoting on all the crypto/web3 sites https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/17/style/nadya-tolokonnikova-john-caldwell-pussy-riot-wedding.html

I had no idea. I wouldn’t have guessed that one. Ugh.

@gabek Someone made a long list of "people to be deeply disappointed in" but they did so on the Nazi Hellsite so all but the first few entries are gone now. https://jwz.org/b/yjtp

@gabek @jwz it started in the beginning of Russia's invasion into Ukraine, with the claim that crypto was the only way to send money to oppressed people. I don't believe that, but it sort of fit with a punk/tech vibe they were going for. Now it's just another crypto project promising "utility" and that NFTs will empower women someday. She might really believe that, but it sure looks like all the other crypto projects that came and went during the early days of the boom.

@gabek Chuck D also sold / was sold a similar line of bullshit about blacks and banking which was probably warmed over Protocols of Zion. Something something "CIA, you see I ain't kiddin'"
