As the normie masses finally begin to realize that the cloud is just bullshit to own and control your media, I am feeling a smug sense of validation.

That playlist? All locally stored.

That media library server? Also local.

Photo albums and picture rolls? LOCAL.

Contact lists, bookmarks, favorites, games? Local, local, local, and local.

And before you ask : redundant backups in place.

Don't be a slave in the name of convenience.

There is cloud as a service which I tend to agree on with your position. Cloud as an infrastructure is great. I have on site on metal services and some on VMs in "the cloud" - I'm in control and can move the split anywhere between the two to suit my convenience and cost needs.
