The transphobes have, in the process of excluding trans people, fatally undermined the equality act. Now that trans people can be excluded based on "dicomfort", we will end up re-litigating the gay men locker room debate of the 1980s. If you go after one minority, it is only a matter of time before someone will go after the others. #ukpol #ukpolitics

@otfrom I suspect cis women, a minority of whom asked for this, will be the first to get blowback as many have already been challenged because they don't look feminine enough.

@craignicol @otfrom Completely. I do not feel that this a win for women's rights or safety. There are far more impactful ways to protect women and girls.

@otfrom absolutely. Believing them would be a great start.

But also, much easier to blame trans people and immigrants than to stand up to big tech companies with massive war chests who push rape culture, powerful men who have blackmail files and shared interests, and a culture that tells us "boys will be boys"

Governments have dramatically changed culture in the past but they have no interest in changing culture to support anyone who's currently disadvantaged. 🤬
