Stunningly easily led 😞 No wonder he hung around with Epstein etc.

How can he bang on about critical thinking for all his life and trash every religion on that basis, but then fall for a cheap conjuring trick?

Being an asshole, or even a criminal, doesn't prove OP's allegations based on the evidence provided.

I'm genuinely surprised at the lack of skepticism in this thread? Are people just afraid of being judged by total strangers for admitting the evidence is weak?

Or, perhaps ironically, are they committing the same error they assume Dawkins has made?

I honestly don't know. This thread raises fascinating questions.

@wesdym Like most of the people in this thread, I was commenting directly on what Dawkins himself has written. These aren't allegations, they are his own words in an article he wrote himself.

Dawkins is falling for a party trick, it's like thinking a magician genuinely made a rabbit appear out of thin air. This wouldn't be so bad in itself, but he's spent his entire career relentlessly criticising and condemning other people for believing stuff too easily.

Dawkins is a great example of how people who have a naturalistic view of "real patterns" but don't have a process ontology will end up in metaphysical dualism unintentionally.

Minds are not software, they are what specific bodies are doing as they engage with the world. flux.community/matthew-sheffie…
