DeApple, DeMicrosoft, DeGoogle, ... DIVERSIFY
in reply to Tuta

“We will never add AI to our service.”

Recommends AI alternatives rather than putting an “X” (or something similar) to indicate that you don't support it, OR not having that column in the list at all.

How to diversify but still have an ecosystem of coherent apps with same design language, integration and same login?

what do people use to sync bookmarks these days? either encrypted or self-hosted
in reply to Tuta

you can also use this Nextcloud App's:

- Calendar
- Notes
- Tasks

and many others

yeah only logo is not good if you dont already know them ...

I'd add a fifth row:

***Disconnect***
Cloud: No
Mail: Thunderbird
Calendar: Thunderbird
Notes: Kate/KWrite/Notepad
Reminders: Thunderbird
Office Suite: LibreOffice
AI: Why? Seriously, why?

(Though I agree that Mozilla is taking a dark turn, so maybe Thunderbird is also on the endangered list and might be better swapped with something else.)

I admit, I never even heard of CryptPad, and don't recognize the icon. I've been using LO for years, very happily, and regularly recommend it. What's better about CryptPad?

Back when I tried to choose a (paid) #Nextcloud service, I got completely lost. What I need is a few hundred GBs of cloud storage, for photos and videos mostly, and any other stuff (documents, owned music backup, etc.). But it's so hard to figure out which host to trust. Any tips? (Anyone is free to answer)

Please give me names for this programs. I do not know it.

Lots of people asking for the names of the apps in the "Diversify" row. The names are in the alt text, so I'll paste them here too:

Cloud: NextCloud
Mail: Tuta Mail
Calendar: Tuta Calendar
Notes: Notesnook
Reminders: Tasks
Office Suite: CryptPad
AI: Mistral
