You might find it amazing that a supposed medical report into the treatment of trans people didn't interact with ACTUAL TRANS PEOPLE. (It did interact with plenty of antis and treated them as neutral and reasonable.) But so much did NHS England's Cass Report not interact with actual, real trans people that it resorted to generating AI pics of them.

These bigots are literally making up people to get mad at.

I'm a bit uncertain about this claim.The report says: "We spoke to young people, aged between 12 and 18 years old (n=14), who sought support from the specialist NHS gender services in England. We also talked to parents(n=12), young adults aged between 19 and 30 years old (n=18) and care professionals(n=23)." n=14+18 is definitely a very small amount for such an important study, but I do think it is important to not deviate from the truth when there are other criticisms to be made

One would like to think such a report would feel able to say "we spoke to X amount of (young) trans people". The fact is it does not. Were any of those statistically insignificant numbers of young people trans? Who knows?

However, you are right to add your caveat.

I just think trying to portray the reviewers as only ignorant is both inaccurate and not useful, when they clearly did hear pro-trans views, and made a judgement against them.

( "The Review met regularly with support and advocacy organisations for which supportof gender-questioning young people is theirprimary function or a significant element oftheir work." , "The Review Chair held weekly listening sessions to hear directly from people with primary lived experience (individuals who identify as transgender, non-binary, gender fluid and/or who have been through a period of gender-questioning)")

The review also took seriously the views of medics who think that "trans children do not exist" and regarded such people as neutral whilst trans advocates were regarded as ideological. I give them zero slack. What you do is up to you.

it's really the telling review that they cast doubt on the existence of trans kids*

* 25 years and younger †

† Also people who are neurodivergent can't be trans cause terfs like medical gatekeeping‑ :ms_rolling_eyes:

‑ The report is def mad that the adult clinics didn't want to play ball. I'm not surprised, look at what happened to the childrens clinic when it played ball. They want any excuse to say trans adults don't exist too.
