A while back I posted about using an old ereader in the kitchen after I found that the magnetic case sticks to the refrigerator. That ended up not being the most secure thing as it would eventually slide down so now I am trying metal phone stickers and magnets. It is also very easy to remove for charging.

Sometimes using magnets with an ereader can keep it in sleep mode, but in this arrangement and this model (Kobo Nia) it works fine so far.

I wonder how tricky it would be to sync that to a CalDav server and use it as a calendar display.

@lrhodes that's a really cool idea! I *think* it should be doable, but yes, it might be tricky.

Turn an old eReader into an Information Screen (Nook STR)

Here's a quick tutorial for turning an old Nook into a passive display. This is an update to my 2013 post End Result An eInk screen which displays the trains I can catch from my local station.
