The heron from yesterday's walk

I would never have noticed it, sitting quietly up a tree in the shade, across the canal, had a young man with sharper eyes not spotted it ahead of me. I noticed him photographing something as I walked home, some 100 metres ahead of me. He considerately moved on as I approached and gave me a turn with this noble bird 😊

Always nice to see another person happy to walk alone with a camera

Not technically a good shot of the heron caught in flight. I wasn't ready for motion and the light was low, but I like the motion blur of the background and the graininess of the shot
