@ambivalena Thank you. I was photographing the event and saw this emotional moment happen and I captured it with my camera. Then I read a local newspaper article after the event. Turns out the person I photographed is terminally ill with stage 4 cancer and was given 6 months to live. His dying wish was to participate one more time in this festival and have his side of the tug-of-war win, which we did, and in a record-breaking 6 minutes as well. He was overwhelmed with happiness.

Thats a wonderful story, and sad too of course.

But nice that he got the chance to participate one more time.

@ambivalena Yes. I have a local friend, who may be able to connect me with this person's family and I could give him and his family a copy of these photographs I captured. I think he and his family would appreciate the capture of the emotional moment of the event as a special memory to always treasure.
