No, you do not prioritize those goals. You have chosen instead to prioritize "ethical" surveillance capitalism, an oxymoron reflective of your institution's decision to prioritize continued surveillance capitalism funding at the expense of those purported goals.

@yoasif Thanks! It was a good read 👍 My main takeaway from it is that online advertising itself is largely unfit for consumption; whether it tramples on individuals or communities, it tramples all the same. If the consequence of a rejection of online advertising is a smaller world wide web powered by circulation/subscription revenue rather than ad revenue, then I say so be it.
