This is the burning Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra — a site of immense historical and spiritual significance. The last time this cathedral was bombed was by the Nazis during WW II.
Every time I see Russia's representatives welcomed back into international sports and culture while their country continues to burn cities, destroy heritage, and kill civilians, I find it harder not to curse the world eager to move on while Ukrainians pay the price every day.
