The Grand Canyon & the Kolb Studio, which was begun in 1906 by photographers Emery & Ellsworth Kolb. The Kolb's were hardcore canyoneers. They carried their early--big & heavy--photographic equipment all over the Canyon. Sadly, the building is now a gift shop & the Kolb brother's history has been relegated to a tiny closet featuring a couple of their photos & a short video about their lives.

Wow, what a marvelous place, but really sad that history is almost wiped out.

@ambivalena After I tooted that I learned that next year the Park is planning some sort of exhibition about the Kolb brothers. So that is good news! And yes, the studio perched on the edge of forever like that, it would be a wonderful place to live and work!

Oh, that's nice to hear.

I agree, it must be marvelous to live there, especially on starry nights ;-)

@ambivalena Indeed! Ha ha, and now I need a photo of the Northern Lights over a Moon lit Grand Canyon!
