This is the entire theory of deterrence - that one country cannot use nuclear weaponry without a response in kind. Simple-minded but effective.

War is good for the economy, or they wouldn't do it. Nuclear war? Mhhm... also lots of juicy reconstruction contracts. Also a welcome decrease of population. Maybe they already enginneered the rad-resistant GMO crops...

While true I suspect a nuclear war would be bad for house prices.

...and as a note capitalism requires ever growing profits, which requires an ever growing population. Population decrease for any reason reduces demand and kills capitalism dead. Just ask Japan about that. Population falls and profits evaporate. The darling of capitalism is not nuclear war, it is the infinite establishment of colonies on other planets which provide infinitely expanding markets.

What you say is true @Adam Hunt
But capitalism-as-we-know-it is transforming into a new thing, thats my opinion that people rarely agree with. I see that for along time already real production doesn't get enough profits and they prefer abstract parasitic finance.
Also the power is now concentrated into this globalist billionaire elite. It looks like they take nearly all decisions now, and have consolidated their power. The covid circus disaster seems to have been pretty much orchestrated by "them".
I don't know how historians will call this emerging era, probably not "capitalism". Some people call it techno-feudalism.
But the economic aspect you mention, I don't know what to do with that.
Hope you're right anyways , and that they'll always need us as slaves/consumers and don't exterminate too many of us.
