Will This Be The True Successor to MS-DOS? – Windows 2.x

Do you remember the small vaporware piece of software known as Windows 1.0? It didn't look like much when it came out, but it has truly evolved now, and it has a new shiny GUI! Thus, it wants to become the true successor to MS-DOS! Will it make it? Or will its rival, OS/2, steal the spotlight?

I'm really sorry if you found any mistakes, the human behind this post (me) would really like to correct them. Which bits are wrong exactly?

Well steve balmer being one

the complete absence of windows nt which the article should be about. Because it was was NT that was designed from the ground up to be the new os to compete with os/2. Ibm wanted os/2 to be the replacement for dos but microsoft was working on NT. This is what really puts everything out of whack.

First of all, I've fixed the first one. Secondly, this is a series written in chronological order, and we have a long way before reaching NT, which will be covered in a future Episode. Lastly, this is a series mostly focused on the GUI aspect, which means that, sometimes, I might not include some unrelated information.
