@jrredho I deleted Facebook long ago, after I figured out the snooping it was/is doing.
Me: Chatting about getting a pet dog with a friend in person FACEBOOK: WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUY DOG FOOD? Me: Mention medical condition in a private voice conversation FACEBOOK: DO YOU HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION? BUY THIS MIRACLE CURE!
@jrredho My mom has noticed that when she talks about stuff with her friends in meat space, she starts seeing ads for related stuff on her iphone. It made it a lot easier to convince her to set up a secret word/phrase (while out of hearing of any phone/electronics) for mutual identification. Hmm probably it's the phones of her friends that are doing the eavesdropping... she puts her own phone in another room while at home and not using it.

It's like a poker game: Once you put your money in the pot, it's no longer your money. It's best to fully aware of that with all these types of sites.
Also, do Facebook next, please.
