Discussion on landing fees program in FLorida.

Europe is a fan and their GA is barely scraping by.

US has system of aviation FAA fund from fuel sales with local governments providing and charging for hangars, tie downs and fuel sales revenue along with taxes from business on airport related to aviation. It works and promotes aviation.

Now local governments are trying to tax on services and infrastructure already paid for.

Interesting. A sidenote from Europe:

Today I paid 66 EUR for a total of six landings (5 x C172, 1 x AT01) at EDWI (Germany).

Oh, and AvGas is at 2.6 EUR/l (10.93 USD/gal).

@frank yeah, im aware from my friends eu-side. I'm glad you manage to be a pilot and aviate!!

For comparison, 100LL fuel here in california is $6-ish/gal and no landing fees (yet).

@frank interesting - I did NOT know EU airlines do not pay fuel taxes: https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/hungary-reportedly-launches-initiative-to-put-off-adding-aviation-fuel-taxes/

So GA pays through the nose landing fees and airlines pay nothing on the most expensive resource they use. Makes sense that US airlines would try to get a similar sweet deal.
