Older Americans say it’s a good time to find a job. Younger people aren’t buying it
The schism is likely to continue fueling generational divides in politics, where younger voters have focused on economic issues such as housing costs and have registered less faith in institutions.PBS News

I was just having this conversation with someone who'd fall well into that 'older' category. (For reference, I fall between the two listed age ranges)
The argument being made at me was that they see "now hiring" signs up all the time, ergo there are jobs to be had.
But when I asked if any of those jobs they saw advertised would even pay rent, they spluttered & said that wasn't the question.
But it kind of IS, right? Lots of unfilled jobs != good job market.
