Over the last few days, Apple Weather on my iPhone has been constantly pinging about incoming rain. For the most part, it’s never turned up. Even the hourly forecasts have been more misses than hits. How’s your experience been with Apple Weather?

I stopped using Apple Weather altogether a few years ago. It’s always wrong, particularly about forecasted high temperatures during hot days (it always underestimates by at least 5-10F).

@rckenned I thought the whole acquisition of Dark Sky would have helped. But it doesn’t seem to have.

might depend on how many weather stations are near you and submitting data. I’ve used it several times to get metalwork painted outside in gaps in the weather that it predicted very accurately. That said it’s going a bit mad with the weather today but it’s unexpected snow, shrug.

My main source of weather is TV news...

however, I do check my iPhone and the weather app has been spot on. The days it said it would rain it has. Even the mode where it shows chance of precipitation has been pretty darn close. Yesterday it was saying high% chance of rain by 11am, and it was raining here at 11am.

I also use it for sunrise/sunset info and sometimes air quality.

Regarding weather apps...

I had a co-worker that had a bunch of different weather apps on his phone. One day we checked them all to compare, and every single weather app reported something different 😐
